What is the worst piece of advice you've ever received? I can think of several times when people tried to be helpful only to say stupid things like "They'll come back if it was meant to be" or "If you don't think about it, it won't hurt as much." How about this winner, "If life gives you lemons, make lemonade." Please, don't make me puke.

When you're living through those moments in which you desperately need advice, it's probably the worst time for you to actually properly deal with getting good advice.

You see those moments we need advice the most, are probably the lowest parts of our life. I'm not talking about "Should I get these shoes or those that match the handbag" stuff. No, the bigger things like "Which casket should I get?" or "When do we know if it is right to remove the life support?"

Getting the right advice for the right situation is as simple as asking as many people as you can for advice, evaluate the advice given, trust your instinct, and then act upon the advice you feel most comfortable with. Sometimes the most comfortable advice to follow often has unforeseen consequences but you know what, I guess It must have been meant to be.
